I made this yesterday for a friends daughters 15th birthday.....from one of the new Cosmo Cricket paper ranges.....Clementine. It has fresh clear colours and some of the papers has a slightly vintage feel with them too....which of course is my most favourite of all.
As we were giving her money I made a pocket on the inside to house that and decorated the envelope simply. If money or a voucher is being given, I think the card should be a little more special as it becomes part of the gift......
I haven't done much creating since returning from holiday, so as we have 2 special birthdays this week I knew having a little bit of quick fun would get my mojo going again! Just want to scrap now, but this will be my reward tomorrow once the household chores and shopping are finished today......
I can't believe my little sister has turned 50....one of my early childhood memories is of Mum bringing her home from the hospital when I was 5 and a half. In those days children weren't allowed to visit the maternity wards, so I remember Dad going up to see them in the ward, leaving us other 3 waiting in the car....Mum coming to the window and waving to us from 3 stories up! That would certainly not happen today....
I have used my 3 favourite products here Prima, Collections & Dusty Attic....the packaging from one of the new Collections paper ranges has these perfect sized squares...don't waste them, cut and store for a collaged card as they are the perfect size!
Again...mostly Collections with the dusty attic frame.....this I have glimmermisted with Black Magic along with the collections numbers. Matches perfectly with another of the new collections paper ranges.
Using the new Gabrielle range by BoBunny, some Prima flowers of coarse & Dusty Attic mini vines.
Note: For those of you using typepad who have updated to Explorer 9 you have to change your compatability view settings to view on all websites before you can load photos....yay now I can update the for sale section with all the new stock on Thursday!!
I decided to make a special tag for Emily's birthday, but in the end I decided to make it into a card.....which in the end I loved just as much! Glimmermist is so nice to add just a wee touch of colour with. Again I have used mostly my favourite products.....dusty attic(chipboard under angel), collections(angel & butterflies), transparences, prima flowers & 7gypsies(metal tab & 13 rubon).
I have 10 thank you cards to make for Japan, so think I will make a smaller card using this tag idea. I just like the way it works as a stand alone tag if need be or adding to a folded card makes it a more substantial card.
This has been a fun wee project.....for a special anniversary celebration tonight. No presents so it's been fun to make the card "more"! Inside I used some of the new October Afternoon paper (with some old advertising of a bride & groom pleased with their new non-break tableware after he drops a plate while doing the dishes!) and our message on the other page.
Others products used...some tiny alpha stickers, net & cardstock is Bazzill Basics, Dusty Attic gate & together word, prima flowers, websters papers, BG paper (background), Crate Paper paper sticker borders, Collections chipboard heart AND the 50 is peelcraft....a product I rarely use!
This card took me 5mins to make.....I folded a piece of cardstock that was lying on my scrap pile, cut a strip of 7Gypsies paper inked the edges and with tape runner stuck on the bottom of the card. Grabbed another piece of plain scrap paper, doodled a couple of brackets, popped through two tiny brads added a piece of scrap ribbon & larger brad and glued to the card....popped on the name with chipboard letters and hand wrote the happy birthday......done! Inside I adhered another piece of scrap card with a torn edge already done, papered on top of that using a scrap piece leftover from a layout I created last night, popped on some old 7Gypsies alpha stickers from my stash...glued on to make a pocket to house a lotto ticket (or gift voucher) added a metal clip.....hand wrote our best wishes on the other side of the card inside a doddled frame...finished. The flookey bit was it fitted an envelope perfectly!
This is a great way to use scraps leftover after each project too! In my new organising modus operandii, I have created a monthly list of birthdays that now hangs off one of my containers on my scrapbook table for the coming month, and as I clean my desk between projects I will make a card using the leftovers for one of the birthdays on that list. This has a twofold effect......I am creating a new habit, and being ready ahead of time. That will be really nice! Usually I am creating one on the birthday and in a rush! With proper thought and organisation, I know making cards will now be enjoyable again.....and not something I feel I have to do.
